Akaroa Glamping is a unique accommodation experience situated in Takamatua Valley. Our two glamping sites overlook Akaroa's Harbour and give views of Onawe Peninsula, the sea and the surrounding hills. It is a three minute drive into Akaroa so while you will feel like you are away from it all you can still have Akaroa at your doorstep.

Our Kakapo tents include, a king bed, arm chairs, wooden floors and everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. You can enjoy the simple pleasures of camping, with the perks of hot running water and first class amenities.

We provide all the comforts you might expect in a hotel plus more!

TENTS

Our custom Kakapo 8 tents boast a 3.6m by 4.6m floor plan with a king sized bed and luxurious bedding. Side tables and comfortable arm chairs are a few features you will enjoy in your tents. The tent has a total of 5 windows and 1 door allowing you to decide weather you let nature in or keep it out! Out in front is your deck to relax on and take in the view!

BATHROOM

Hot running water! Yes hot water for your shower and a flushing toilet. This is your own private bathroom! We Provide:

  • Towels
  • Soaps (shampoo, conditioner, hand soaps etc)

KITCHEN

Our outdoor kitchen is shared between the two tents. We provide cleaning products for the clean up. It includes:

  • BBQ (with side burner)
  • Sink
  • Pots, cutlery & utensils
  • Tea & Coffee
  • A chilli-bin and cool pads are provided in the camp kitchen for cool food storage.
  • All you need to make a meal

The bathroom and kitchen are situated in between the two glamp sites.

What to bring

FOOD + DRINK

You will need to bring your own food for cooking. We provide you with a few simple necessities including: eggs from our chooks, bread, butter, milk, tea & coffee.

ELECTRICITY

There is no electricity on site although you are able to charge your phone through solar. Lighting is also solar powered.

CLOTHING

Warm clothes - it can be chilly in the mornings and at night. A warm jersey and long pants are a must.

FOOTWEAR

If you enjoy walks there are some great walks around the Peninsula, you might also like to take a walk around the property so as it is a farm your shoes might get muddy!!

THE SMALLER STUFF

Insect repellent and Sunscreen - a must have! As well as your own personal toiletries.
